Introducing ONYX GF™ – Color That Works for your Factory Floor

Onyx GF™ expands the Onyx material family with functional color, enabling color-coded tooling, error-proofing fixtures, and safety indicators where visual clarity matters most without sacrificing strength or stiffness. Built on the same trusted foundation as Onyx, it’s a chopped glass fiber-filled nylon engineered for the daily demands of manufacturing.

In manufacturing environments, color is one of the fastest and most reliable signals on the floor for communicating critical information at a glance, from hazard warnings and part classification to product line differentiation. Onyx GF is now available in six colors: red, yellow, blue, green, gray, and white to address visual management needs. Onyx GF requires no paint, no labels, no post-processing. Color-coded tooling reduces assembly errors, supports visual management systems, and makes it immediately clear which part belongs to which process, revision, or line.

For aerospace and automotive manufacturers managing FOD prevention programs, color-coded parts make foreign object detection faster and more reliable. In food and beverage or pharmaceutical environments, where strict zone segregation governs production, color-coded fixtures make it immediately clear which tools belong to which area, reducing the risk of cross-zone mix-ups. High-visibility red and yellow fixtures draw attention near hazardous equipment or confined spaces, reducing dependence on signage and operator memory.

Performance Without Compromise

The mechanical properties that define Onyx: strength, stiffness, surface quality, dimensional accuracy, and print reliability, carry through to Onyx GF. Reinforceable with Continuous Carbon Fiber, Onyx GF offers added structural capability to applications that demand it. Onyx GF is also non-conductive, making it a natural fit for applications where electrical isolation matters, including antenna housings and enclosures.

Designed for Scalable Manufacturing

For manufacturers already operating on Markforged platforms, Onyx GF fits directly into existing workflows. Colored tooling that once required outsourcing, painting, or secondary processing can now be printed in-house consistently, at lower cost, and at the quality standard your operations depend on. The result is the same trusted part, in the right color, across every facility that needs it.

Onyx GF is available now on the FX-series.
